THJS regularly visits fairs, cities, museums and other inspiring places. With our cameras at the ready, we are always looking for beautiful new color combinations and styling trends. We are happy to share this inspiration with you!
Homesick for the past
I took this photo not so long ago: the designer of the space wanted a fireplace that we could all gather around...And now? Now we would be happy if we could all be together at all. Fireplace or no fireplace...We adapt our behavior. But our desires don't change with it. And I don't know about you guys, but the longer it takes, the more difficult it gets. The feeling is almost comparable to homesickness. I feel homesick to greet good friends with a big hug. I long to cook again for so many people that they hardly fit at our table. To dance at a party, to be carried away by the music and enthusiasm of the others. To travel and then to love being home again...Recognizable? Tell me what do you miss most in these weird times?

Corona sucks...
It remains interesting to see how each new situation evokes different reactions. At this time, when we are confronted in many areas with the effects of Covid-19, we see this happening again.
Mini expositions for Christmas
During the time that we were forced to spend more time in our house, many people had a big cleaning. We cleaned up and determined whether each product was worth keeping. We threw away a lot of stuff.
Where can you find inspiration for your new collection?
Are you wondering where to orientate yourself for your new collection in these difficult times? Although nothing seems easy these days, we hear from many of our customers that sales are currently still going fairly well. After all, during the lockdowns, many people paid extra attention to their home, started renovating their house or decorating their garden. And of course there was suddenly a lot of demand for home workplaces ...But how do you start your next collection?Do you sometimes think: how should I continue? Where do I get good information, on which we can base our new collection? It is difficult to find the concentration to attend online fairs all day long. You miss the information that you otherwise absorb while walking, talking and watching.Let us help you with that!In addition to the new trend book for SS 2022 (which has actually become a trend box) we have bundled all interesting trend information in 4 different trend magazines for SS 2022. In each magazine, the color and trend themes for SS 2022 are further elaborated with the focus on a specific product group .THJS Cover INDEPTH Seasonal SS 2022:
Enthusiastic about glass
Every now and then Titia and I sign up for a workshop. Because we enjoy making something ourselves, but also because we would like to get to know a technique or material better for our work. When developing products, it helps us to better understand what you can or cannot do with certain materials. Last year we attended a porcelain workshop at Harmen en Elke. And tomorrow, a workshop on old photography techniques Robert Broos.
Wings and folding screens
Another thing that strikes us more and more are the many folding screens and wings that we encounter everywhere. As a result, rooms are divided into different areas, in which different activities can take place. Moreover, it gives a feeling of privacy, something that we have a great need for in the present time, in which we must be “always available”.In Milan we also saw a lot of arches in the interior and as an accessory. They create a sense of protection for what is underneath. But at the same time, your gaze is also consciously guided to that which is behind the arch. An interesting game with protection, privacy and curiosity...Even with chairs, this search for security is striking, both indoors and outdoors. Many sofas and chairs have a backrest as a kind of tub, which gives a very sheltered feeling.
